Do I need an eye examination?
The tests are painless and are a good health measure for you and your family.
The cost of a sight test is £30, however many people are exempt from the eye examination fee through the NHS. Ask one of our trained receptionists for details.
The equipment we use:
We have the latest technical equipment to check the pressure in your eyes, your visual fields, and the health of your retina (back surface of the eye)
The retina camera takes a digital image of the retina to help monitor changes at the back of the eye. This is especially useful if you have diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, or any other eye conditions. The test is very quick and simply involves a flash of light.
The image is stored on the practice computer, allowing us to retrieve previous images of your eyes and compare them to monitor any changes. This is free of charge to all our patients.
Our visual field screener is recognised by the West Cheshire Hospital for screening Glaucoma patients.
We have fully qualified resident optometrists who are accredited with the local PCT (Primary Care Trust) for screening diabetic and glaucoma patients.
We recommend regular eye examinations (every 1-2 years) to ensure you are getting the best possible vision from the spectacles.
